This show was bananas! Big thanks to Shmonty and WRRV for a very well run production. Always a pleasure working with you guys. All the bands were amazing just a really great musical vibe throughout the day. And the snow held off for us also. The rock Gods were looking down on us. I'm sure Jen was looking down and smiling also. Good times.

Sugar Bar show details! - September 24, 2009

Well the show last night at the Sugar Bar was another success! It has been really awesome to see people (slowly but surely) catch on to what we are bringing to the table in the world of music. Their were some really kind and inspirational words from alot of people who saw us for the first time. It's a great feeling to know that we are really touching people with our message. They ended up having to kick us out in the wee hours because we were the last ones at the club,,,, it's a beautiful thing. Don't forgrt to check in regular for band updates.

The Rawson Utica Music & Arts Festival Story - September 13, 2009

Ok,,,,, so here's the short version. Packed up the trailer and did the 3 hour 15 minute drive to Utica NY for the festival. Our first night we had a 12am hit @ Kozars. The show was great & we were hanging out afterwards selling cd's, taking pics, etc, etc,,. So we decided we better load up the trailer and head back to the hotel. When we went to the car the driver's side window was smashed in and the GPS, wallet with all our cash /credit cards and an ipod was GONE! WHAT! We wanted to just cut our losses and go home. But we Called the cops filled a report and limped back to the hotel which we had no way of paying now. Joe Sweet who is in charge of the festival heard about our situation came to the rescue and got us a room and told us not to worry. We got up the next morning thinking,,, man that was a f'd up dream, only to realize it was'nt a dream. Damn! So this day we had a 5pm show @ Tiny's, but during the begining of the day word got out all over town about the band that got robbed. When we started to play the show there were only a few people in the crowd, but that was only for the first 5 minutes. All of a sudden Joe Sweet with a crap load of people stormed the place to see Rawson and give some support. Even WRRV DJ Schmonty came all the way from Poughkeepsie to show some love. It was an incredible show. A bucket was passed around that quickly filled up with money for Rawson. At the end of the set the crowd did an endless battle cry of ONE MORE SONG over & over. So we did another song and hung out with all these incredible people in Utica. We packed up the trailer since this was our last show and waved goodbye to everyone when all of a sudden Joe Sweet runs over to the car and asks if we would do one more show at another club in town. So we all looked at each other and kinda said, let's do it. Joe said great you're going on now, just head straight their and everyone will help you set up. So it sort became a whirlwind as we were still sweating from the show we just did and were now driving to this other venue. So we get to this venue O'Donnells and were greeted by a huge crowd that had gathered to see the band that got robbed. There was this snowball effect going on and it was spreading quickly through town, awesome! So a bunch of people came and brought all our stuff to the stage and they had a bucket that said The band that got robbed in Utica. And someone was auctioning off signed posters that were being bought for $50 a pop and the money was all being thrown into the bucket. By now we are tripping because the amount of support and love we were getting from these people that did'nt even know us was incredible! So we're finally onstage and ready to start the show and we all looked at each other and had the same feeling like we were in a freakin felini movie and proceded to give one of the best onstage performances we ever did. The crowd was in an uproar during the show. I never felt so much like Mick Jagger in my life, it was great. So we did the show and hung out afterward with all the shakers and movers in town that had heard about "the band that got robbed". WE made alot of connections and were asked to come back to play the biggest venues and that they would have the places filled to capacity! We almost wanted to cry,,,, you cant write this stuff. And just think we almost limped back home after we got robbed but decided to stay and ruff it out. Just goes to show how something can go from bad to good if you just keep pressing on. We love Joe Sweet and The entire Utica Music & Arts Festival family. You guys are the shit! See you soon.

First Rawson Friday @ The Shrine a great success! - September 5, 2009

Wow! What an exciting evening. Moe Isaac blew the roof off the place with his amazing performance. We hit the stage in full Rawson form. Tons of groove & energy to spare. Sean did a special dedication to MJ by singing acapella Stevie Woders "If it's magic" & also a solo acoustic version of MJ's "Never can say goodbye" that had the whole place clapping & sining along. Jimi, Edwin & G did an instrumental piece that had the house on their feet screaming. This was without a doubt one of our best shows yet. This event went so well that we were asked by the venue to make this an ongoing event so stay tuned for the next one.
Peace & Love, Rawson

Rawson mourns the death of Michael Jackson - June 25, 2009

We are very saddened by the news of Michael Jackson's sudden death and would like to express our deepest condolences to the Jackson family in their time of loss. Words can't explain what Mike meant to us as a performer. He is one of the best if not the best performer of all time. His contribution to the music & entertainment industry paved the way for all performers especially those of color. He was also a great humanitarian who gave so much too help less fortunate people of the world. It's sad he was treated so bad by the press and hangers on looking to exploit him for personal gain so much to the point where the negative accusations of his personal life would at times overshadow the genius of his talent and positivity of his endless giving to countless charities. He was a genuine victim of his fame who died way before his time. He will be deeply missed and their will never be another performer of his caliber. Your influence lives on in your music and the people you have touched. May you rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.
